e-machines on the rise?

I was at Best Buy, doggin' e-machines, when the sales person overheard me and showed me this machine.

He even popped the cover to reveal an MSI mobo inside, complimented by an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ and ATI RADEON 9600.

I wouldn't trade it for my home built system, but compared to the e-machines I remember from a few years back, this thing was kick-a$$.

I still had my friend (who was insistant on buying a store bought unit, with warrenty), buy the sony vaio (using an ASUS mobo), but I was sure put in my place, looking in that e-machine. The sales person told me, "the only thing e-machine about this unit, is the cover". He was right!

I have never recommended an E-Machines to anyone but I bought my mother one 2 ½ years ago and it has operated perfectly ever since. I normally build my own machines but Best Buy had an “Open Box” buy that I couldn’t pass up. I don’t think I would still recommend an E-Machines to anyone but it is as good as the rest of the ‘stuff’ out there.

That's just a bit to expensive! Freakin' out of there mind! If they can get that much, man, I could get alot of money if I were to sell mine.

Nice machine but I'd expect a GB of RAM, 8x DVD burner, and at least a 15" LCD monitor for that price.
