beeping sound

I'm the one with the beeping sound pc. I apoligize for not giving all the information I am requested to give so maybe my problem can be solve. Here it goes I try to upgrade memory, when I install it and turn my pc on all I got was a beeping sound every 2 to 3 seconds. Nothing show up on the screen, blank. I took the memory out of the slot and try again to boot but balnk screen and beeping sound. Can someone please help me with this problem Thanx

I have a AMD Duran (TM) processor
248.0 MB of Ram
Windows 98 SE
Cable modem
Usb connected

is original mem back in original slot.
Check all your cables make sure you didn't knock a cable loose.
What kind of computer, do you know what kind of MByou have?

everyones computer has this beeping sound. it basically means that the hardware is haveing a problem. for example. when u press down more than say 3 keys on ur keyboard at once it does this. my guess is that ur either trying to put DDR ram in an SDRAM slot or the other way round. it ur completely stumped try reinstalling windows or search some other forums through google.

Double posting is only going to confuse things and make it more difficult to help you out.

If, after a while, you haven't gotten any responses you can always your thread to the top so that someone who hasn't seen it will have the information from other members input to base a response on.

I do not agree with this response at all!!!
One beep is normal. More than one beep indicates a problem.
You could not possibly put a ddr mem stick into a sd ram slot, there are slots on the bottom of the stick of mem.
Fortunately not every one on this site is as arogent as this person.
I am not the best computer person on this site, but I know there is some one that can help you.

stuff u. i had the same problem as miriam all i was trying to do was help and i found out that u need different slots for ddr and sdram so why dont u shut ur fat face before calling someone arogant

Hey this is not just a beeping sound, The sound goes on and on and on. It does not stop until I turn the pc off. And when I turn it back on the beeping sound is still there with a blank screen. I know there is a problem but what? and how do I fix it Help!

my computer only beeps when there is a problem so i was just saying what happens to my computer
