Keyword search with IE

I am using Internet Explorer 6.0 on with XP HomeEdition. I can't use the keyword search in the address bar. I recently had a virus called BackDoor.hogle, I cleaned out a lot of files because at the same time several programs like Superbar and Bargain Buddy deciced to find a home on my computer.

I was advised by Bellsouth to install and run Spybot and POPUP Stopper.

The computer works fine but I can no longer use the keyword search feature with IE. All I get is the this page cannot be displayed screen. I was able to use this feature before the trouble started.

Any suggestions?

maybe reinstall I.E. and i personally would reinstall the whole O.S. because virii leave garbage in the O.S. so that other virii can infect it later on.......

try Trend's Housecall Online Virus scanner. see if it can thoroughly clean your drive. or worst, reinstall everything.

Would you care to explain what is this 'keyword search' thing? I don't quite understand what is meant with it.
