My questions are these. What kind of over clocking would this be capable of and what is the relationship between fsb speed, and the speed of the memory I use. I'd like to get about 1.9 Ghz out of this configuration while keeping the cost for mobo, processor, and memory under $200.

you might want to edit your first post then. i would suggest getting a 2500+ barton perhaps if it fits in your budget. you also have to consider the cost of the heatsink if you are buying a better one then stock for better overclocking.

Ok so what kind of overclocking would I be capable of with the 2500+ barton chip?

2500+ Barton chips have been known to be capable of hitting the same speeds as a 3200+ Barton (2.2GHz) fairly easily. However, you're going to want to get yourself a stick of PC3200 memory as well if you decide to shoot for this. Running the 2500+ at 3200+ speeds basically involves changing the stock FSB of the chip from 166MHz to 200MHz (leaving the multiplier at the stock setting of 11). Most of the time, this is achievable with minor increaes in core voltage (if at all), and with decent air cooling. Keeping all of this under 200 bucks, though... well...
Figure for the mobo, 2500+, 512MB of PC3200, and a decent HSF, will probably run you 250-275 total at Newegg, depending on the actual memory purchased, and the HSF you decide on.

Newegg prices:
Biostar M7NCD Pro motherboard, $66.00
AMD XP 2500+ CPU OEM, $85.00
Vantec AeroFlow TMD CPU cooler, $28.99
Total $179.99
You'll need a little bit more $ to buy the RAM.

If I wait till a little while, I can spend a little over my budget of $200. So I'll wait about a month, but in the meantime are you guys talking about just one stick of memory? I understand this board has dual channel capabilities. Would I have to use the dual channel feature to get those speeds, and if not would it be easier for the processor if I did? Also if anyone could recommend a sight that explains in detail the basics of over clocking I'd really appreciate it.

Just purchased from Newegg
Abit NF7-S V2 91.99
2500 Barton XP 92.00
Corsair CMX 512 512 Pro RT 135.00
The reason Ispent so much on the RAM cause Abit recommended this for best performance.
hoping this system rocks

Kewl Pickel, let me know how it turns out. I had thought about the NF7-S. And I haven't bought anything yet.
