need help regarding networking 2 pcs

is it easy to do with 2 win xp computers, and i went to a PC shop and i want it mostly for games and sharing documents and letting my sister send scaned pics to her comp.
any instructions on the settings, i think i knwo how to install it, if its just like asound car of graphic card, then easy, about settign it up in the computer, or does Win XP does it all it self

and also 1 more question.

is it true that when u have 2 network pc's, and 1 of the comp. is using internet and the other is using the cd burner or dvd durner, will it interupt the burning. or is there any disable and enable option fto disable netowrking and then enable it later.

thanks

Its not all that hard really.

The easiest way is if you buy a cheap little home router.

WHat equipment do you have...cuz you say you went to a pc store..what did you buy?
