Best virus software for gaming,,,

I just built a new rig (XP pro) and I installed norton 2004 trial version. boy am I glad I did not buy it. It is giving me error messages and is conflicting with some of my games.

Gaming is the #1 priority and Norton is getting in the way. Has anyone else had any problems with norton 2004?
What do you think of McCafee or innoculin. Any comments would be helpful, Because I am ready to buy one.
p.s. I used Norton in the past and never had any problems. ( my cats breath smells like cat food.)

Did McCafee stop catch the blaster worm or did it get through?

i did not get it so i guess it stoped it . friends on my address book have gottin it and i had to go over there house and remove it but it never got to me .i havent gotten a virus in like 4 years(i did not have an updated AV progy then) i always keep my antivirus and firewall updated now! (both are McAfee)
