Buy MB for DDR mems

Hi gang.

I got a question. Right now I'm running my xp1700 (tbred A) with pc133s. If I buy a MB with DDR mems and use my xp1700 will I see any performance improvements and how much? I'm thinking of a MB with 333 fsb for later upgrade but I'm concentrating on the DDRs right now. Thanks.

I doubt it would be a noticeable difference. A benchmark might show an improvement but nothing you would notice. during regular use

I've run a board w/ the same CPU and one had DDR PC2100 and the other SDRAM PC133. Same everything but mobo/chipset, both had onboard audio, same HDD, everything was the same.

The DDR board blew away the SDRAM board. Even when I put the SDRAM up to 384MB's, the 256MB DDR would run past it.

You'll notice a difference . . . bigtime.

I've thought that the ddrs would make some difference. I might end up just getting a cheap 266 fsb mobo with DDRs and keep my 1700. I'm not having problems with my system but I realized that my 133s are the bottlenecks with the 1700 and 7200rpm drive. I'll worry about upgrades later.

Thanks.
