game server stability question

ok im running a NWN (Neverwinter nights) dedicated server from my house...

here is the set up
Cable modem
D-link router
Athlon 700
640 PC133 RAM
Win 2k pro
80 gig Western Dig 7200 rpm HD (partions 30, 30, 10 (server), 10).

ok here is the issue
i run the server it runs fine CPU usage around 40-60% with 4 peps on... then every-once-in awhile the cpu spikes to 100% still playable but then eventually (sooner not later) the entire puter crashes...

any suggestions on how to look at what is the major issue...

(i am willing to replace the 80 gig(move it to another box to use as a work puter) with a 20 gig and make it a real dedicated server. i will put win2kpro on it update it and only other software would be NWN server and zone alarm.. (??can i get away with using a 6 gig??

After this is fixed I would like to set it up so others can gain access and control (restart server software if the program crashes)..but that is another post hehe…
txs

Have you tried the latest stand alone server software?
http://nwn.bioware.com/downloads/standaloneserver.html
Updating it would likely help.

txs of the replay and yes i am running the latest server software...
I guess i really did not ask my question right..
Ill try again...

I feel it may the computer itself (the hardware and op system) I think the software is good but can not prove either way...
are their places or programs to use that will let me determine how the puter is running and if there is a software conflict or other type if issue

btw congrat on the ultimate status

SiSoft Sandra is more of a benchmarking program but can help you alot when troubleshooting a machine:

Also, check the temprature of the processor. It sounds like an overheating issue, but I'm not so sure.
