PCI Slot problems. HELP!!

It seems as though my PCI slots do not detect anything that gets put into them. Pardon me but I have no clue waht some of this stuff is.. but I am running a SIS / PCCHIPS 962Lua motherboard. I checked my Bios and i seem to have everything enabled to let them work. I get confused with the USB 2.0 ports and whether or not they have anything to do with it, but they seem to be working just fine. If anyone needs to know more just post and I will reply. Thanks ALOT!

I believe it is a plug and play device. Its called the roland RPC-1 and it plugs into a digital mixer to be used for computer recording.

Could the voltage have to do with anything? This says it requires a 5Volt PCI bus.

Kids Operating system?

What operating system do you have?

When you say it doesn't detect anything - are you refering to when you boot into your operating system or your bios?

hmmm...i did some googling and i can't find out if it is plug and play or not. i would recommend going to control panel->add hardware and do a full scan for hardware...maybe that will at least pick up something is there.

i saw these os'es mentioned Microsoft Windows 98/98SE/Me

http://www.zzounds.com/item--ROLRPC1

But it would seem like it would still be detected.

What does the manual say as far as instructions?

RPC1 website http://www.rolandus.com/products/det...prodid=RPC%2D1

I looked for a faq etc, I think it just has this little blurb about the manual

"The Logic RPC Owner's Manual is an Adobe PDF document that is automatically placed in the "Emagic" folder that is created on your computer's hard disk when the Logic RPC software is installed. This is the complete comprehensive reference for the Emagic Logic RPC software included with the Studio Package. Adobe Acrobat Reader must be installed on your computer to view this manual.

NOTE: The Logic RPC Owner's Manual is an independent document, and is NOT available from the "Help" menu within the Logic RPC program. "

So there is no manual to download etc, it is put on the hard drive when you run the software.

Maybe its not meant to be plug and play detected, maybe it has to just have the software installed?

I'll try installing that then and see waht happens. I know the instructions simply say to plug it in and it should be detected.

I did this and unfortunately the Acrobat file that came with it did not include anything involving instaling the RPC-1

Another random thought: Could it be that I need to delete my old audio drivers in order for the computer to recognize the new ones?
