USB Between Two Comps

Is there a program that allows you to share your hard drive and what not between two computers if they are connected together with USB? He doesn't have them both networked. He wants to transfer a 700mb file to his labtop from a desktop via USB.

Please respond ASAP! Thanks in advance

As far as I know, you cant network over USB.

If they both have network cards you can network the two together using a cross-over cable. I also hear there is a way to network over Firewire. Or you can burn a disc on the desktop and open it on the lappy. If he doesnt have a burner you can pick one up for $20 at a computer store.

I've got one of these USB transfer cables at home. They work great but the only thing u can use it for is transferring files. It's not meant to be used like a typical network.

Well I found out he bought one of the USB transfer cables and it came with the software. Except he doesn't have amdin rights on the computer. It's his work's labtop so they secure it.

how unfortunate, man. that's the problem if you are just an ordinary user of a company's pc. better befriend those network administrators.
