RAID 0 HELP PLEASE

I just put 2 brand new samsung HD's into my P4P800 Deluxe machine and they are not being recognized as a RAID 0 setup. I did everything per the ASUS manual and the last step in the BIOS did not seem to work. After entering windows I was able to go through the device manager and it said that they were working properly . I tried them as different setups and I still get no recognition under "my computer" that I have another HDD there. Do I need a special cable? Do I have to many IDE's hooked-up (2-CD,1-HDD,2-HDD as the RAID)? I am thinking that the last step in the BIOS did not take b/c per the instructions I was to get a screen saying that the "drives would need to be wiped" but I never received that screen. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Have the drives been partitioned and formated yet?

I'm no expert as a lot of folks on this site, but I think they would have to be partitioned and formated to be recognized in windows.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to format and partition these 2 drives for a RAID 0? These are brand new so I do not think that they are defective but I can't get windows to recognize that I have more HDDs. I tried using windows startup disks to setup the drives and see if windows could use one as a slave(non RAID regular HDD) and that didn't even work. So basically right now I am lost. Anyone?

Right click my computer then manage from the menu
Then under storage click disk management.

You will be able to partition & format it there.

What OS are you using?
If you are using win98, thegladiatorgy idea is not an option in win98, at least not that I see. If you are using win98, boot to floppy and run fdisk, creat partitions then format.

How is it you have windows loaded? And you are trying to partition and format after its loaded? Better fill us in on the OS. In 2k and xp the raid has to be created before windows install. Or should I say in the very beginning of the install. I'm confused, but thats normal.

As I understand it, the raid is a contoller card for additional hard drives he already has hard drive with OS. Using the raid with two additional hard drives splits up the programs to increase the speed of running the programs. Thats what I understand. but still don't know what OS he is using.

So we are setting up a raid controller card and copying the original drive to the new ones? Usually the card software has to be installed before the card and drives. If during POST the card BIOS isn't recognized something was done wrong or the card is fubbared. I haven't installed a raid card but a controller card for extra IDE drives can't be that different. I almost always find when something doesn't work right for me I need to go have a beer and come back and reread the instruction book. Then I slap myself in the forehead and fixed what I missed. Not any help, I know. But, thats what I usually find.
