Building a new PC?

I will build a new pc within two weeks; I will need the following items. Motherboard with a built in Lans, sound and able to over clock my cpu options, CPU, Memory, Harddrive, 3.5 drive, CDRW+DVDROM, Black PC case with side window, a mid range ATI video card, Windows xp upgrade disk. I have a budget of around $1100.00 to fork out on this pc. The reason I'm doing this my job was I eliminated from work and I need to get over my depression hehehehe. Any help on this matter or suggestion would be welcome. I will use this pc for Internet, Microsoft Works and Word, Kodak digital camera software and the following games Enigma Rising Tide, Silent Hunter 1 and MS 2004 Flight Sims. INTEL or AMD suggestion? Thanks

Order from NEWEGG.com Really good store Dont forget to add hardrive cost to that. Oc'ing should get you 2.2ghz @ 400mhz fsb with 1/1, 2/2, 3/3, ect. Ratio in softmenue. Easy to OC with mobo.

I have checked and these seem to be the best for your buck go with this you cant go wrong.

i agree with on the mobo and processor but here are my suggestions for the rest, though the nf7-s is only $99 on newegg.

heatsink & thermal compound: thermalright slk947u sale $32.95
artic silver ceramique $3.95
(links are to sidewinder computers where i got the same heatsink and t.c.)
1gig of pc3200 ram since your budget is $1100
lite-on black dvdrom drive $33
lite-on black cdrw drive $38
you might want to check out the 9800xt i dont know if it's speed is worth the extra $100 or more but you do get a free hl2 voucher

The 2500 barton is not better than the intel chip mentioned. He just likes AMD, that's all.

The AMD 2500+ Barton core is currently the processor to get from AMD. The Abit board mentioned has CPU throttling, so you don't have to worry about the overheating issue from a dead fan, or failing heatsink, which takes care of the only issue I had with the AMD processors vs. Intel ( intel builds it right into the chip ).

Most of us Recommend AMD because it allows you to spend more money elsewhere, and still get great performance. It's like Fords and Chevy's though, everyone has a brand they prefer.

Just like getting a 5900 non-se. It also allows you to spend more money elsewhere and still get blazingly fast frame rates (when anything beyond would only be numbers) and the excellent IQ.
