What is the memory running it?
It's likely you either have the FSB on 100-133mhz if you are running slower.
You would need to set that up to 166mhz.
What kind of memory do you have?
Is it pc2100, pc2700, pc3200?
For future references, try and post full specs of your system to better help us help you.
There are lots of memory brands that are incompatible with this board, so if setting the FSB to 166mhz causes your system to crash the next time you boot up after changing that. You may have a problem with the ram.
If so then you will need to underclock the memory, by setting the FSB at 166mhz, then adjusting the memory frequency to 100-133mhz.
This may not be the case, but try that for the moment.

Ok, well that should be ok as crucial is a good brand name and should be compatible.
Just try as i mentioned above, go into the bios and change the FSB and the memory frequency settings, since the memory frequency is at 100%, that way it shows as running as 166mhz. Likely the bios would detect the memory speed and wouldn't put it as 200mhz automatically. However best to make sure it doesn't
Is that two sticks or just one by the way?

Ok, when you do, put them in slot 2 and 3 for the dual channel mode.
Also, did that work with the memory settings, you would have to do that if you want the processor to run at the correct speed. Also if you hadn't setup your bios settings, it would be a good idea to do that.
However just do the memory first so you know the cpu/memory run at the right speed first so you know it's ok.

The athlon xp 2500+processor runs at 1.83ghz, so that worked ok.
Next you could setup the bios so it's not at default settings and running at optimal. If you aren't sure what to set it to, then read your manual for each setting. Tho the manual doesn't go in depth. If you don't under stand the setting or what to set it to, then skip it. Then look up the setting on google or ask here.
The memory setting will be correct, you shouldn't have to change it when you add the second stick on dual channel. However it may be picky and go to default settings.
Just remember the settings and change it if needed.

Well whenever something changes, like hardware or maybe the battery has a problem, I've heard about the bios dead locking when trying to over clock or other settings, since the battery is suspected to put out 2.9v when it should do 3v. Buying a new battery could help if you do try OC'ing.
Sometimes, not always, when the cpu will do that for whatever reason. The settings will be reset to default, who knows the settings maybe be ok and just the cpu, that happens too.
