pwr/aux temps

What exactly is the pwr/aux temps that the sandra benchmark shows?
my brother who has a pentium cpu and intel msi board has a real high pwr/aux temp 64 C, board 32C and cpu 29C

on the other hand, i have an amd cpu and socket A msi board and my pwr/ aux temp is around 28 C, board 28C and cpu 38 C

i asked him and he said all his boards have run that high?

anyone have any explanation on this?
not worried on cpu or board, just curious on the pwr/aux temps

sometimes sandra mixes up the sensors settings of your board that's why you get different or erroneos readings. try to use other temp monitoring program like motherboard monitor or speed fan. good luck.

PWR/AUX Temp. also known as "Northbridge" Temp. on the 865/875 Neo2 boards and earlier boards as well from MSI are bogus readings. There is no temp. sensor to read the NB on these boards therefore the readings come up odd. At boot mine shows 62C, yet I can touch the NB HSF and it's cool to the touch. System runs fine so I just ignore the reading.

i have tried the motherboard monitor, but to be honost, it really confuses my on how to set it up. It has about 50 fan settings etc. etc. and i can't get it to read but 1 or 2 things....not enough info to mess around trying to use it. Sweeper will have to show me sometime,,,,isn't that right Sweeper!!!

p.s. He is my Bro....no really, he is, i am not lying...,..he is reallyy...come on you have to believe me....

Hey, bro! why dont ya help little brother here!

you'll only be needing 2 fans to be configured. one is for the cpu and the other for the system fan. for the temp reading, one sensor for cpu and system. i agree, it's a bit complicated. but sure you can visit the help file. good luck.
