Spyware / Popup help...?

Hello...
I accidently clicked yes to one of those "would you like to install and run" prompts. When I realized what I had selected, I closed IE immediately, but I think it may have installed itself anyway.

I can't find anything in the control panel, and I don't know what the plugin program is called. How can I get rid of this?

(I know it installed because I now get occassional pop-ups for small type things, (i.e. that gaming computer contest), on a major website like MSN or msnbc).

Thanks in advance,
John

You could try either or both of these spyware removal tools:

Spybot
http://www.safer-networking.org/

Adaware

Internet Options
General tab
Settings
View Objects
When the 'Download Program Files' folder opens, right-click the offending plug-in and choose 'Remove'

Might also want to try Google Toolbar. www.toolbar.google.com It pretty much blocks everything when you are using IE.

defintely use both adaware and spybot since they both get things the other misses and spybot can block you from getting stuff again.
