Optical out?

I'm looking for a sound card that would allow me to play my PC music on my receiver and I was wondering if an optical out on a sound card was standard or is it on higher end cards only. I don't need anything else special for my PC because my home theater is where I play all my DVDs. Thanks for the help.

Well there is two things you can do. If you have 200 $ you can buy the SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS Platinum that has the Optical out in the front bay. That will give u digital 5.1, 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound. or if you have coaxial digital input on your receiver, you can buy the cheaper soundblaster card that has a digital output in the back. Buy an adaptor that goes from RCA to a Mini plug and plug it in there. That will also give you digital sound for dvds and such.
