very retarded RAM question

a while ago i got 2x256 but i cannot remember WHAT type it was, its either 2700 or some lower one, but i really have no idea. Now i need to get some 512 sticks to up my ram to 1g, but i have no idea what pcXXXX to get.

is there anyway to check? this is very urgent as i am probably going to spend the ram money on drugs if i cant do this fast ehe

in fact, it is necessary for windows xp to have at least 256mb of memory. so that programs will run smooth and faster.

best that you can do is install the memory modules and run
CPU Z . you would be able to see what type of ram you have. good luck.

p.s.

be in sports, not in drugs.

My windows XP only uses about 80mbs of memory when I start it up. You must have a lot of things running in the background to be using up 250. How many processes do you have running?
