Possible Dumb Question

Howdy all,

Okay here it is........sometimes when I open websites etc. I just get the'ol white square with red X in the top corner?? Do I not have something enabled so these pics will load? Most of the time everything loads just fine, but sometimes I just get the'ol X's. Any hints?

Running IE on Windows XP

Could be the link is dead or a proxy server problem where your ISP is not able to connect to the site/link.

have kazaa lite installed by chance?

Kazaa lite sometimes edits your HOSTS file to point a large number of popular advertisers IP to 127.0.0.1

Chances are its just an advert if this is the case.

...and just for the record, maximus, there are no dumbass questions as long as you have a genuine query (which you obviously have)...

The only dumbass is the person who damages or crashes his rig just for the sake of not asking for advice....
Help, advice and community spirit is what most forums are heading for... (IMHO)

Sorry Vass, No Kazaa Lite etc., just those little white boxes with the red X where the picture is supposed to be......lol, but a good stab non the less. I think that Bill might have the angle on this one. Anyways thanks for the insight.
