AOPEN DVD16x, PowerDVD, WinDVD (HELP!!!!!!)

I just puchased a Aopen 16X UDMA 33 DVD-ROM model DVD1648/AAP.

Installed it, installed PowerDVD XP4.0 which came bundled and now when I try to play a dvd PowerDVD won't respond and throws an error and wants to send a error message to Microsoft.

It does the same thing with WinDVD. The only software that I can get to work is InterVideo 2.0 which I don't want to use.

I just updated my NVIDIA graphics drivers 2 weeks ago and are using DirectX 9b

My Configuration is:

- AOPEN DVD (secondary master)
- BENQ CD Re-Writer (secondary slave)
- Video (Jaton 3DFORCE FX5600, 256MB Diamond Edition)
- CPU (P4, 3GB)
- RAM (1GB DDR 400MHZ in dual band)
- HDD (120GB WD 8MB CACHE)

Firmware update for this drive is unavailable

I have also tried using the DVD drive on it's own without the BENQ, it makes no difference.

Any help on this would be much appreciated as this is a real pain in the butt.

When you installed the new drive did you go through the BIOS detection utility?

Have you checked in Device Manager to make sure the DVD drive is running in DMA mode and not PIO?

Thanks I will give the patch for PowerDVD a go first. Also Inter Actual 2.0 is also throwing the add macrovision error, I have to restart the PC to fix it.

Also forgot to mention I am running WIN XP Home
