Yahoo Name to IP Converter
Hey all,
Does anyone know of a program or website that will take an online Yahoo person and give me their ip address? Nothing malisiocus about this, just have a couple people farking with me and I am 99% sure they are all the same person and an IP would tell me if I am dead on. Thanks for any help.

You could try a packet sniffer running on your PC to find out where the communications are going. But you might also want to try inticing the person to send you a file or accept a file from you through the yahoo messenger while having a packet sniffer running to really zero in on their IP.
I would recommend Ethereal as a good program for packet sniffing.
Good Luck.

... or send them to a webpage where you have access to the logs
I don't think Yahoo just gives out IP to name translations, and there's no other way to get that information

In Windows 98 you could open your Windows Explorer to the windows directory, pull up MS-DOS Prompt, type netstat -n and wait for a message to come in to get the IP data. I used this with ICQ. Then you can use a DNS search engine to find the ISP and send a report.
I think it was netstat -n. Anyone care to confirm this? It's been a while.
Cheers!

ya its netstat -n, you should get them to accept like a picture or something that you want to send them. check the command prompt with netstat -n first then after they accept the transfer, you will be able to see what their ip is because it will bet the new one in the netstat -n list.

Setup a simple web server and a special page. Send a link to the person, after they visit that page check the logs for the IP address.
Do the same thing with another special page but to the other person.
