Modding my TI-83 +

well i thought about starting modding, but i dont like to play with my PC so i'll start with my Pocket calculator

i want to put in a see through back, but i have no idea what kind of material i can use which material can come in contact with the platin and which not?

i already opened the "case" and i found a silver looking thing over the electronic parts, is it important to be there

As far as I know, the silver is just a grounding. You can do the same with a few paper clips (conductive of course) and solder. But you have to look at what touches the silver.

ah well i replaced that silver thing with a see-through plastic, now you can see behind the batteries into the calctulater, quite funny!
