What are you using for DVD burning?

What program(s) are you using for burning DVDs?

Besides simple data storage and DVD-disk cloning, my other area of interest is creation of "self-running presentations" (suitable for viewing on a dedicated DVD player) made up of collections of stills (jpegs mostly), some avi files, and organized into chapters that can be selected from an on-screen menu. Ability to organize and sort order of graphics files. Ability to do music overlay, too.

I know that just about any of the DVD burning stuff out there can do these things, and I've played around with the bundled Roxio v6 SE that came with my Plextor 708A, but it is awkward and tedious to use. Maybe the full version 6 is better???

Anyone have any favorite program that is more intuitive and less tedious? Freeware, shareware or $$$ doesn't matter... just want something good.
TIA,
jmichna

I only have DVD XPress Plat and a nice bundle that arrived with my Asus A7N8X-E mobo ... I'd look under ULead and Pinnacle, and check for a DVD burning forum ...

Send a message via AIM to phenious
Adobe Encore DVD, Ulead DVD Factory, Nero 6 Ultra, Record Now, Easy CD Creator 6

Easy CD seems to have a slide show thingy that could work for you but Adobe Encore has the best stuff IMO which allows you to work with timelines for slideshows with sound and video files alike.

Brangwen and phenious...
Good ideas... a co-worker also mentioned Ulead, but he wasn't exactly thrilled with its intuitiveness... I will follow-up. As you suggested, in addition to whatever other folks at TechIMO suggest, I'll try to find some DVD-burner User Forums, too.

PS: Brangwen... it's jmichna
You have always been consistent with "jmicha," however, so I respect your consistency
