Why Not An Apple G4 iBook ?

Nice size and price for a Notebook computer...comes with Panther.

The argument against Mac Desktops is their difficult and expensive upgradability.

But on a Notebook thats not nearly as much a worry.

What do you think?

i would say go for it! one of my roomates is the tech apple campus rep and he has a G4 powerbook which is very very cool.

for example, one day i was having internet issues with my comp so i borrowed his laptop and all it took was two mouse clicks to setup his comp as a router using the wireless setup we have here (keep in mind this is also while mixing macs and pcs).

Plus the OS is very good IMO. Very very stable, more so than XP IMO and also invulnerable to viruses, with the exception of the half dozen or so NIX viruses . Plus they just work. in my experience with Macs they just don't have problems like pcs do. also the hardware accelerated gui is nice.

Dude, go for it!! My dad has an iBook G3 (older model..) and its awesome. Built like a tank. very strong to drops, and heavy duty wear. Its much lighter than some PC notebooks and the screen is very sharp. (same form factor as ibook g4)
With mac os 10.3, its much stable than xp and much much less vulnerable to virus (what orignel said )

Apples are high end performance machines that have been known to be niche oriented---sort of like buying a BMW, Porsche, Ferrari etc---some prefer Chevys and Fords---I was raised on a Mac, Win98's inception threw some of us us for a loop (I admit---I moved to the other side)---I havnt had a new Apple since, I dont have a flaptop atm but if I purchased one---it would be an Apple...
