PS2 craps out after MK:DA

ok so Im trying to setup a remote see this thread but the PS2 wont even cut on i was playing MK: DA today and when i cut it off and came back and cut it on i got nothing it powers up but i get no picture this happens everytime a play this game and only with this game. NONE of my other games does this. does anyone else have this problem? i actually have to cut the thing off with the switch on the back for a few hours before it will kick back on. anyonw know a remedy for it??

OK it happens when i try to watch certain movies or play certain games i tried to play a simpsons game and it wouldnt even boot up i started watching Ice Age decided i didnt want to watch cut it off went to cut it on to play a game about 3 mins later and nothing. Had to turn the toggle on the back off for about 40 mins for it to boot back up. does anyone have a CLUE why this does this or can anyone point me to someone that does???

well heres the thing i bought it used AND i voided the waranty when i cleaned it the other day(thinking this may be the problem).

is anyone else have this problem i figured it may be the memory card so i took it out and it still does it...what gives?

What is probably happening is the certain disks are causing the PS2 to do a certain sequence or things. This is where your fault lies.

It REALLY sounds like a HW paroblem to me. As in the hardware inside the machine, not a mem card. The fact that it only does it to some discs reinforces this. There are many different types and qualities of discs, and yours can't handle a certain kind. This is not by design.

As far as fixing it, I dunno. You may be able to flash something but I doubt it. Check sony's site to see if they have some sort of knowledgebase or free help.
