How do you share files between 2 comps runnin win2k?

Hello, ok, both me and my bro's computers are running win2k

we allowed our folders to be shared but when we try to access each otherscomputer all we get is the printers

now when we were running windows 98 it was pretty easy..

whats going on in win2k??

Is "file and print sharing" enabled

right click on my network places- properties-local area connection-properties and see if file and print sharing is checked off. Also did you right click on folder share the folder? you need to do both steps

Go to the Command Prompt and type "net use" without the quotes to show you if the shares are being shared properly.

sean...do you mean "net use" or "net view"?

I think you mean "net view" which shows the comps..then you do , for instance "net view \\bob" if the comp is named bob...that shows the shared files.

Yes the file and print sharing is enabled on both computers

so basically the only way for us to view each others files is to type in a command??

we cant like open them up in a folder window like you would normally for our own computer?

Send a message via ICQ to Agent_Embryo
Have you tried "\\Rayman/nameofshare"

Also try the IP adress instead of the hostname.
