Using a Laptop Drive in a desktop?

I have a cd-rom in my laptop, I want to use it in my new mod, can I and how? What process would i have to go through and are there any websites that walk me through it?

Thanks

bLyZr

IMO you'd be better off grabbing a used one out of an old desktop computer. If time is money, you're going to spend a lot to do this. Plain new CD roms are cheap. Used ones are dime a dozen (so to speak).

I would say yes, it's just getting the power and signals to the correct pins. I have a couple laptop CD drives 4Sale if you wanna experiment.

You'll have to find/construct a connector/cable to go from the back of the CD drive to the mobo.
