Kids Delete Operating System

I have two operating systems to log on to (both xp) and i was just wondering how i delete one of them??

Two seperate installations? Or just two options at boot-up?

If you have ONE installation of XP, and just are getting TWO options at bootup, then go ahead and edit the "boot.ini" file.

You'll want to backup C:\Boot.ini. Then, open C:\boot.ini and remove the entire line that pertains to the menu you want to install.

Your file will look similar to:

timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect
If you go and delete the the line you don't want (starting with 'multi'), you will get rid of the extra menu at boot. For example:

Edit the boot.ini by running msconfig then delete the folder that houses the os.
