trying to set up a wirless home network

I am planning on setting up a wireless home network for 2 pcs and 2 laptops. One laptop has built in wireless and i will have to buy cards for the rest. I was looking at the us robotics one but am not really sure. Also looking at the DLink extreme G and maybe Buffalo. I need decent range and wont be transfering huge files over the network but maybe the occasionaly large file but i will be willing to wait on those occasions. I would like this to be fairly sime no acess points or repeaters..Im kinda new to this and dont want ti to get tooo complicated but i guess it it really helps. I dont understand all the repeater and wireless bridge stuff completely so. Thanks for any imput and or websites u have tha could help me.

no i dont have a wired network setup but i have done it before. I am plannign on sharing a cable internet and am looking at 802.11G standard. I am willing to spend about 100 to 150 for the router and hopefully about 80 to 100 for the cards. I may even do wired on my main PC to save some money.
