Upgrade help

Hey I currenlty am running

FIC AU13 Mobo
2000xp
512mb PC2700 Corsair XMS
80GB HD
9000pro 128

Those are the important specs.

Ok I was wondering if I purchased a 9800Pro if I would see a big difference in graphics or would I need to update my proccesor also?? The mobo supports up to 400mhz fsb. If I do need to get a new CPU then what is a good one that I could get awesome graphics out of...so I don't bottleneck pretty much. Also when I bought my mobo I believe it only supported 4x AGP...9800pro is 8x. I just went to www.fic.com.tw and it says that the AU13 supports 8x. This obviously happened after I got my mobo so if I upgrade to 9800 what do I need to do so that my mobo supports it?? Don't I just have to update my bios?? I don't know how to do that though. Thanks ahead of time

Maybe I missed something, but what are you upgrading from?
Your current specs show a 9800Pro 128 and you're asking if it would make a difference to upgrade to a 9800Pro.
Would you mind clarifying?

Don't sweat the 8x, doesn't really make a difference in today's games.
Quote:

What 8X AGP does is double the bandwidth between the videocard and the system from 1.06 GB/s (4x AGP) to 2.1 GB/s. This means that potentially twice as much data can reach the videocard at any given instant. While this sounds great on paper, in real world situations it doesn't really boost performance as much as you might imagine with today's games.

You will definitely see a differance, the 9800 Pro is about 3 times faster.

Ok that was not my question...my question was do I need to upgrade my CPU also so that I don't bottleneck. I know that the 9800 Pro will kick my 9000Pro's ass. Also when I upgrade how do I upgrade my bios to handle 8x

As far as I know even a slow CPU can benefit from a good graphic card. XP 2000 isn't really that slow.

I have barton 2500 not OC. went from FX5600/ 256mb to a 9700Pro
and there is a big differance
