Win XP Prof. (full not upgrade) Activation?

I installed a legal, full version (not an upgrade) of Win XP Professional that I then activated. I now want to remove it from the first computer and then install it on a second one that I am building. Will I have to call MS for a new activation key? Or is there a way to 'deactivate' the first install through MS? I installed it about a month ago, and activated it online one time. The new computer would be significantly different in terms of hardware.

You more then likely will have to call MS.

That copy of XP has already been activated and you won't be able to activate it on another system.

I installed an OEM copy of XP Home onto a PC for some folks. They upgraded their PC and I installed it on their new one. I had to call M$ to reactivate it.

No big deal, just call 'em and tell 'em you've upgraded. As a matter of fact, when the dude at M$ asked why I was reinstalling, all I said was "upgrade".

In short, be prepared to call.

Yep. You have to call them. And just say you're upgrading otherwise they'll get it in their heads that you're trying to install one copy of two systems

(begin sarcasm) Gasp!! Heaven forbid!! That would be the end of the world!! (end sarcasm)
