Talk B Core Duron?

I just got done installing a new Shuttle AN35N Ultra motheboard with a 1.6 duron. How do i tell if the Duron is a B core?

I also need to go to shuttle's website so i can update the BIOS. It cannot correctly recognize the new Duron. It shows up as Unknown 1900+.

Here's the download page for the AN35 from Shuttle.
Not sure how to indentify a B core Duron though.

The B Cores are green colored cpu's instead of the tan color.

The fact the bios didnt recognise it means its the "b" version as bios wasnt as new as the cpu. My duron Morgan core 1gig was green die. Thats no B I got. LOL. That thing I got like 2 years ago. Hafta dig it out to looksy again.

Xtreeme,

I did not know that there was a green Morgan core Duron. I had a 1.2GHz Morgan core but it was brownish.

Take a look at the stepping codes on the cpu. For example:

AxxxB or JxxxB will be the "B" core. The stepping codes ends in B.

My xp1700's stepping code is AIRGA so since it ends in "A" my cpu is a tbred "A".

The colors don't mean squat. You can't use colors to indentify a cpu.

EDIT: The morgan core is a palomino core. My old xp1700 palomino was green also. I had an 1gig duron morgan and it was brown.

Yeah, I dont think the colors mean anything either. Like bartons. Some are diff colors. But not all of one color clock better then another.
