CD-R Prob

Heyas,

Recently Everytime I put A blank CD into the D:\ the computer just restarts. Once the cd is verified and the computer recognises that the CD is blank is when it happens. The other Day it was working fine then I put a newer version of nero on and burnt a few CD's with that fine. The next day I turned the computer on and then it started happening. I deleted nero along with the other burning programs I had installed but still it keeps retstarting. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this prob?

Almost sounds like a "joke program" running on your machine. Would run an antivirus scan, and also scan with Spybot and/or Adaware.
BTW-what O/S? (other system specs might prove helpful as well).

I have done the spyware scan and that didnt fix anything I will do the Antivirus scan ASAP.

AMD Athlon 2500+
512 DDR333
GeForce 4 Ti4400 128mb
Win XP Professional

What is the size of your machines power supply?

Running Win XP Pro...if it's restarting automatically, you can change the option in Control Panel>System>Advanced>Startup and Recovery-Settings, uncheck the box next to "automatically restart". This way, if you have a system error, you'll get an error screen telling you what has happened, which will narrow this problem down considerably.

Well after I disabled that option The computer doesnt restart at all. The problem seems to be fixed. I will burn a CD and see how I go. Hopefully all is okay. Thanks guys
