Powerpoint replacement?

I recently made a Powerpoint slide show to show pictures for a memorial service. After the slideshow played I received several requests from people at the service asking if they could have a copy of the slideshow. The slideshow containted music and was about 9 minutes long.

Most people who want a copy do not have Powerpoint. Is there any other basic program that people would have that I can put this slide show into with the music so they can watch it on their computers? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can save it as a self contained item. I will go look and see.

File...Save As

Select "Power Point Show" in the drop down. I believe that will play on PCs without powerpoint.

I believe that with OpenOffice you can export the presentation as Flash.

i was thinkg just bundle it on a cd when you give them it so they could view the presentation then keep using open office but if you want to do flash then just do that or like silicon junkie said use powerpoint to save it...if you have a new version

If I had to install PowerPoint just to watch a presentation .. Well, let's just say I wouldn't be watching the presentation.

Moreover.. That'd be kind of costly. You know, with licensing and such.

[edit] .. Siliconjunkie has the easiest solution.

What do you mean by "disk"? A CD-R?

If you're talking about a CD-R:

Open up Notepad, type the following;

[autorun]
open=file.exe

Where 'file.exe' is, replace that with the name of the file you want to open. Save the file as 'autorun.inf'. Make sure you save it under 'All Files' so that there is no '.txt' extension.

Burn the autorun.inf file, as well as the file that it is set to open automatically to the CD-R.

If you're talking about a floppy disk - autorun is not possible, AFAIK. Sorry!
