Scanner on Dual boot system

I have a sytem with Windows 2000 and WIN XP PRO. THe VIsioneer scanner works on WIN 2K but not on WIN XP. THe program for the scanner I was told will work on XP, by the manufacturer. Is there a way to make this work while running WIN XP?A coworker mentioned that there is a way to run XP in a different mode so that I can use the scanner?

What model is your scanner?

I had the Visioneer 7600, which was unsupported on XP. HOWEVER, I got it to work by using a set of instructions on Visioneer's website: XP Install for 7600 USB.

Those instructions may work for you (regardless of your model number) or the website might have a similar article for your scanner.

The scanner works great in XP, by the way. I've never had any problems.

Did you install the latest xp drivers for your scanner?

Otherwise, your co-worker might have been talking about the Windows XP Program Compatibility Mode

Its working. I installed the latest drivers for XP and the paperport V7.0 software for the 5800. The last time I installed the paperport software it would not connect.
