Which AMD Mobo for Gaming

What is a good mobo for gaming purposes?
I have always been very happy with my Asus mobos but I suppose I'm willing to go with something else if they are better.

What chipset should I be looking for?
Also, I don't need the "best" just something pretty decent (wanna stay under $100 for the mobo).

well, i have an epox 8rda

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...123-198&depa=1

they have the 3+ model, i have an original one
some people here were getting crazy overclocks with it, mine is only oced to 333mhz fsb
this new model seems to support faster speeds, too

mine is great, and i play games now and then, mostly everyday use though ~ its only $93/free shipping too

The best AMD Mobo for the Athlon XP line, 32-bit computing, would utilize the NForce 2 400 Ultra chipset.

Abit is a very nice motherboard manufacturer. Has some very good overclocking potential.

Your best bet would be to get an Epox like Jacob said because you want to stay under $100. Shuttle makes a decent Nforce 2 mobo that OC's pretty good and uses that chipset too.

I would suggest the Asus a7n8x. Great rock solid board. FAST.

u can't go wrong with any nforce2 mobo. personally i would prefer the NF7-S (just because i have one lol). its a very nice board with a lot of features. also overclocks very good (better then other, well thats what i have HEARD anyway). if u prefer ASUS, their A7n8x / delux boards are awesome too. my friend got the delux version and it has even more features and cool stuff then my ABIT.

Biostar M7NCD. Good, solid, stable, and low$($53.00 shipped @ Newegg. Uses the nForce2 400 chipset. No SATA or firewire but has everything else needed.

Depending on what features you want, different boards may be better. But if you're looking for a bare Nforce2 400 ultra without all the extra features, the Shuttle AN35N ultra can be had for a really cheap price.

Edit: Didn't see the suggestion to the BIostar, but the Shuttle is basically the same thing as the Biostar. Depends which one's cheaper

Asus A7n8x deluxe if ya want ALL the bells and whistles. Duel mem controler....Sata RAID Firewire B and A ports.... 6 usb ports.... 6 ch HARDWARE accelerated sound with dolby encoding. Self amped too for cheapo spk's. on deluxe by the way. Duel ethernet for gaming without switch or net routing. Nice features. If going for budget just about any striped nf2 will be good. The Asrock (asus side co.) Nforce2 is cheap and really good quality too.

I just go done installing a Shuttle AN35N Ultra. It comes with the Dual channel memory capability, which i am currently taking advantage of. No SATA or Firewire but it does support ATA 133 Hard drives.

So far so good. I have not done any overclocking and i am planning on getting a 9600XT at the end of the month or so. I picked up the board from newegg for $62. So my vote is in for the shuttle AN35N ultra.
