Gaming Full HD, Wouldn't Delete

I'm on an old laptop of mine, a compaq presario 1277. Anyway, I ran out of disk space on the thing so I thought I would clean it up by deleting a group of items that took up about 100 mb of space. So I deleted them, then I went to the recycling bin to empty it and it was already empty but 100 mb of space was not free'd, it was still at 10 mb hd space. I have no idea where the files went, any help?

Usually a reboot will fix that.

Running scandisk should also find and correct disk space errors.
BTW what OS do you have on this laptop?

Is it WinME? You probably have lots of restore points etc....you can reduce the space used by system restore (or disable it altogether)

Also of course empty the temp folder and delete temp internet files

98 also has a notoriously slow defrg program. You can get a very simple little free utility that will put the winME defrag program into 98 and it will run in about 1/4 the time. Not that this will solve your problem but ..... back to your original question a reboot and running scandisk should correct your problem.
