XBOX computer mod

Do you think if I bought an XBOX case like the one here that I would be able to fit in a standard mobo, vid card, sound card...etc? I only have 1 hard drive and CD drive with no floppy drive. Im pretty sure it'll all fit, just don't know about the PSU? Any suggestions or comments are appreciated ...woops, can some mod move this to the right section

I dont think you could fit it all with standard computer componets. Perhaps with stuff build for a small form factor PC.
You could always take a standard xbox apart (they come apart fairly easily), measure up the motherboard and see how it compares. You're biggest problem however would be the processor and heatsink I believe. The normal Xbox uses a p3 and the heatsink is very small, it also uses I believe sd-memory but its kind of at an angle (closer to how laptop memory is kept), to conserve space.

Im pretty sure you could fit most the stuff in the XBOX, you would just have to worry about the cards being too high I guess. The dimensions are

Width: ~31cm or 12.2 in
Depth: ~27cm or 10.6 in
Height: ~10cm or 3.93 in

Theres a security chip build into the xbox motherboard that prevents this.

This is where the whole control of a "mod chip" comes in. These are soldered to the motherboard at 15 points and bypass this security. Its quite a neat thing actualy, unforuntately theres no suppliers in the US, basically have to order all the mod chips from international sites.

Do a search on google for more info, also www.xbox-scene.com has quite a lot on it.

With these you can actualy put in your own hard drive and rip xbox games to it. You can also install many versions of linux onto the xbox this way through a usb plug into the controller port (the xbox controller is simply a usb cable, so you can splice the xbox cable end with a usb cable and get a data link from your computer.

----edit---

Sorry, after re-reading the post I just realized how much of a thread crap this is, my apologies
