Photoshop day to sunset modifying

Let's see your before and after views of any photo you want. Try giving a brief method of how you changed it. For example :

original:

modified:

I took an image I found by searching google, I used color select on layer pallet and changed the Blue & Cyan black level to 100% and applied it. Then used a gradient fill with direction at -90 and applied. It will look a bit dark for now so set the opacity to around 85-90. That does it for the darkening now for the sunset like glow. from the pallet menu choose hue & sat. make sure colorize is checked and set Hue around 36, Sat. around 70, and light around 5-10 and apply. Next make an adjustment layer and move the left point to almost the center and the right toward the center just enough to get the lighting to your like. apply that and your done. Simple and only takes a few minutes to do.

Here's my most recent before/after. Sorry but there's WAY too many steps to begin explaining what I did.

Looks good Out I haven't played much with embedded text

Siliconjunkie I'll try to clarify a bit

1. take your image opened up

2. on your layer pallet the forth icon on the bottom click it and choose select color. From there in the color drop down box choose blue and take the black to 100%, then choose cyan and do the same black 100% then click OK.

3. now apply a gradient by using the same icon on the layer pallet by clicking gradient from there make sure you have black to transparent and set the angle to -90

4. set the opacity to 85%

5. again same icon on layer pallet choose Hue & sat.

6. when the box appears need to make sure colorize is checked and then set the Hue=36, Sat.=69, light=7 then click ok

7. same icon again on layer pallet only choose levels this time and move the left arrow to almost center and move the right on toward the center till the lighting looks good then click OK.

If you do it this way the original image will be on it's own layer and be unchanged. You can tweak each layer a bit till you like how it looks. I how this is a bit clearer.

edit spelling thanks Out

Ok, I think I got it MDS. But its hard for me to tell if it looks natural.

The only thing I did outside of your instructions (I think) was to tweak the gradiant a bit to even things out.

hmmmmmm... the first example looks more like nuclear winter than it does sunset. There should be some blues in it somewhere.

Just my 2 cents. I haven't graduated from MS Photo Editor yet myself.
