actually manufacturers don't really make much of a difference at all as long as you get a name brand (just to make sure they didn't use really cheap stuff). both ati and nvidia have reference designs that manufacturers follow so the differences between manufacturers are negligible.
as for a similar card to the 9600 pro i believe the fx5700 ultra is supposed to be on par, but i'm not completely sure how the performance of the two actually match up.

Hmmm i been readin some review, and i noticed that the 9600XT isned that much betta then my TI4400 in the benchmarks i seen, so is it worth even upgrading to the 9600?
Yote
Oh and also, would i get a big performance difference between the 256 and the 128 meg RAM version of the 96XT, or will it barely show.
TIA

Hmmm i been loking round, and i noticed that for 11 more bucks i could get the 9700 Pro which outbenchmarks the 96 anyday, so im probly just gonna go with that i found it on pricewatch and bixrate even on ebay (which i dont trust too much)
Here this look good to ya? http://www.gameve.com/gve/Store/Prod...sku=VC-ATI-046
or does it look fishy.
Or this one http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...ice=&maxprice=
Little more but retail, only thing is its made my Powercolor, and thats where my concerns about the manufacturers comes in, does it make a difference if i get it from Powercolor or plain ATI or ASUS or Sapphire or is it just same card diff box to change marketing?
Lemme know regards else ill get it.
Thx
Yote

go with the one on newegg. gameVE doesn't have that great of a rating on resellerratings: http://www.resellerratings.com/seller2651.html
Also a friend of mine just ordered an fx5900 from them a few days ago and it was DOA and he is having a heck of a time returning it.
oh and also, the newegg card has free shipping, so that makes up the $10 difference right there. also powercolor is a certified manufacturer too, just like asus and sapphire, so it will be fine.

If you are going from a Ti to a 9600 the difference won't be tremendous.
