Need driver for Tiny A440 notebook
I cannot find anything on Tiny Notebooks; no manufacturer website or anything. I'm trying to repair an A440 model and can't get the sound driver for it.
The only Tiny I found online was some other company, not the manufacturer. Driverguide.com didn't help either. Can anyone help here?
Thanks.

I think maybe the Tiny A440 is simply a FIC notebook. Take a look at the specifications and picture and see if they match up with what you see on the notebook.
If so, then you can find the drivers and stuff in their support section.

Yea, I was just coming to that conclusion myself (due to one of the articles I read which referred to Tiny A440 as a "rebadged FIC"), but I hadn't yet found the support pages you sent me the link for.
Thank you very much. Hope you don't mind my forwarding your reply to a few other folks I discovered, who were searching for support for their Tiny's, as well.

Forward all you want. The more people it helps, the better! Glad you got it figured out
Just to note, FIC's website will work with nothing but InternetExplorer (from what I've discovered.) So, if you use an alternative browser, try IE.
Also note, that the Windows 2000 drivers should work fine on XP. Simply ignore the warning about an unsigned driver during installation.

I also have a Tiny A440 notebook and the some problem as rande's. I just want to thank you all for the info posted.
My problem is that it often goes blue screen and crash. I wonder if you have experienced the same problem and if there's a solution for it. When i 'downgrade' it back to WinME it sometimes freezes intead of goes blue screen...
Thanks for any input,
AD.

Anewdude,
My immediate thought is that it is hardware related. However, I won't jump the gun on that quite yet.
In WinXP (or WinME) what are the blue screen errors telling you? What is the error code and any other info it tells you?
(Error codes look like: 0x000008E for example)
Also, you can check out the event viewer for any strange errors/warnings. Event viewer can be found here:
start menu -> run... -> eventvwr.msc
The reason I want to see WinXP, is because WinME doesn't really give enough information about the problem (less evidence to work with.)

Thanks for getting back to me. The next time i see blue screen i'll note down the error. I don't remember any exact error message but I know there are many different ones. I don't really know what caused the BS to appear. I tried to replay the scenario before the crash but it didn't crash again. So I'm thinking it crashes randomly. I came to the virus conclusion but ruled out by reinstalling the OS. I onced thought it is because of the power source from where i plug in, in my room it runs perfectly, but not the living room, so I thought it's a power related problem and I tried different combinations of with and w/out battery and different outlets, etc. but then the crashes are still random... And just recently I thought about the angle of how I flip the screen open has to do with it, and currently it's working well for 2 days, I'm kind of afraid it's gonna crash again so I left my notebook screen up at that angle for now...make it like a desktop to see if it happens again. I know all this is kind of ..dumb .. but I'm just gonna wait until I see the next crash and log down the error msg. I'll leave it like that for about 2 more weeks, if it's still cool, i'm gonna conclude that it's the angle of the way i flip up the screen is the solution because i did not make any software change after the last crash...Will let you know if something comes up,
AD.

I have a Tiny A440 running XP same problem, it just crashes and goes to the blue screen with error messages like 0,00000008 or "equal to or not equal to".
I have tightened the CPU retaining screws (under keyboard) several times as they seem to work loose, this seems to help, but I still can't predict when it's about to crash...Help
