Kids Digital Video Camcorders....

OK, I think this is in the correct forum!

I have a Sony DVI Handycam, the Firewire cable, and Adobe Premier 6.0.

However, what I have recorded is quite dark. It is fine on the little LCD/viewfinder, and on the TV, but when I capture it, it is a lot darker.

Is there a simple way to improve on this? Its getting rather frustrating...

Cheers guys!

Chris

If you have windows XP have you tried capturing with the Movie Maker program just to see if it comes out ok on that. I cant imagine why it would mess with your video at all as the firewire should keep it all digital and nice as it gets put onto your Hard drive. But then again. How are you monitor settings? Brightness, Contrast ect.

Hadn't thought of windows movie maker... shall give it a go.

It isn't a contrast issue - no matter how bright the screen, it simply isn't capturing the detail. Odd.

I have done the exact same thing with my Sony camera and it comes out fine. Has this ever worked properly before?

Looking back, it has always been slightly darker, but it is only now the fact that this video is darker that it is noticable...

Driving me crazy.

tmx your cam is shafted!

I run a Sony DCR-PC8E Pal via firewire, and record straight on to HDD / CDR, pic quality/brightness/resolution is excellent!

Did you take the lens cap off, BTW?
