Hello,
Well, I'd like to think that I have this whole network thing pretty much figured out. I do have some questions, however, for those that would like to help me. Keep in mind, that I'm sort of a newb to this, so forgive my stupidity on the subject.
So, I generally have things set up the way I'd like them to be, but I'm confused on a few things....
First, me and my bro play Axis & Allies on the net about once a week, and I ALWAYS have to connect to his game cause if he tries to connect to mine he is blocked out. Now, I go into the 'Virtual Server' settings on my DI-604, and granted his IP access, however, how do I know what PORTS to give him access to. I mean, can I just give him ANY port that's not being used or something?
Like, when I put in the info so that I could play on Gamespy and such, they tell you what 'Private Port' and 'Public Port' to use, how would I know what ports to use when I'm giving access to my brothers computer?
I even went into the DMZ setting and allowed my computer to be exposed to the internet, but that still doesn't work, I guess I need to know what ports to put him on?
And another thing, can anyone tell me HOW to just simply let my computer just simply have NO protection? I mean, I know I can't turn the firewall off on this particular router, but I hate having to configure every little thing so that it can have access to my computer. Basically, I'd like to just whore my computer to the internet
Any help would be great, I'm pretty desperate!
