An air conditioner for your dog/PC?

Has anyone thought of using a small air conditioner mod like the product from http://www.petcool.com/products.htm ? I've heard of venting cool outside air into the case during winter with dryer duct hose but this seems a more year round solution. It's $399.00 with free shipping. Works as a de-humidifier as well. I think my dogs would be more scared of it than relieved by it.

Now I've seen it all, I'm sure Zaa Zaa Gabor would love one of these for her dog.

Hey elroy. This thing is really out there. Saddest part is I'm actually thinking about it.

I think I'll need 2. My dogs and my cows all need one-just because I'm in Kansas doesn't mean I actually own actual bovine by the way.

Aside from exorbitant electric bills, I see no reason that this wouldn't work, as long as you keep it outside and run the ducts through a window or wall to get to your PC.

No way am I putting that outside in my neighborhood-I work at night-it would be stolen quickly. I've had heavy weightlifting equipment stolen from my garage and driveway as it is. Besides I want that air conditioner right beside my PC desk.

I think this would be a poor choice for cooling your pc.

It's still air cooling, the air isn't really that cold, it will suck up a lot of electricity, and require some ugly ducting into your pc, etc.

Assuming you want overclockability, you would be better off going with a watercooling system.

Less expense, less noise, and better performance.

True. On a sidenote during really hot summer days I watercool my dogs with a hose. Never the cats though.

Doesn't look all that much bigger than some external watercooling systems. It would be a tough sell to the wife though.
