PS2 on my computer

Well I recently got a PS2 for christmas, and am trying to get it to play through my monitor on my PC.

I tried putting the RCA cables through the inputs on my TV card (WinTV GO!) but it looks like pure crap The picture is quite blurry.

As a result I am looking at other ways.
1) An AIW
2) A video box, mainly the NextVision N4 or N5 or the ViewSonic VB50HRTV

Does anyone have any experince with any of these?
Is there another option that I am overlooking?

I have absolutely no experience in this area, so take my comments with a grain of salt.

That said, the PS2 was made to be played on a TV. Compared to your computer monitor, the TV has aweful resolution and picture quality. The PS2 might be geared to produce output at the same resolution the TV uses, which is way too low for the monitor.

Just as a 320 x 240 video clip looks aweful when played full screen on your 1024 x 768 monitor, the same may be true of the PS2.

i play through my TVcard and its pretty blurry in my case also. i think the problem is just the PS2. i think tv's have a 640x480 resolution and that is what the PS2 puts out (i think). its difficult to translate that to a sharp monitor.

the blurring might be an effect of the actual tv card in order that the picture isnt ridiculously pixelated. even when i'm watching TV on the card at full screen its fairly blurry

Found this, kinda pricey and looks like a pain having to load the cd each time.

No, the problem is not the resolution the PS2 puts out.

My friend has a videobox and does this on his computer. It works perfectly and the picture is perfect as well. I just am not looking to drop $120 on a video adaptor box if I don't have to.

Also, there are MANY reports of the AIW doing excelllent in this area as well. The reason that the RCA inputs look so *deleted* on my computer is my piece of crap TV card.

Yeah that would rock. Thanks.

That link looks good other than I don't see how it hooks up to a monitor
