mic muted ?

Sound Recording ,Mic is muted, help

Control Panel, Sound Speech and Audio
Devices, Sounds and Audio Devices, Audio tab, and on the
Sound Recording section click Volume.
When I go here, the Mic is muted,
........I cannot Uncheck it........ help Is there a reason?

here is my real problem I am trying to fix :-)

I am trying to use Musicmatch JukeBox 7.5, not the PLUS version.

On my XP laptop, I can select system mixer and record streamimg audio off
the net to my HD.
On my XP desk top, I can record, but the playback is silent.
Both machines use XP, both machines settings are the same, same versions.

I go to Options,...recorder....source.... system mixer

where is my problem?

Click on the 'Voice' tab in your 'Sounds and Audio Properties' and make sure there's a 'Default device' for 'Voice recording'
