Outdoors Windows NT 4.0... Cant logon.. Virus?

we have about 6 system runing Windows NT 4.0 service pack 6.

yesterday one of our systems stoped letting any profile/user login... local and or network login.

no matter what user/password you try, it keeps giving us the same error... "the system cannot log you in because the username or password do not exist or are wrong... or the primary domain is incorrect..."

well we didnt change pass or usernames.... or domain...

Today, another system fell into the same problem.... now I'm thinking it is a virus...

The problem is, these systems do not have cdroms, therefore we cannont run a virus scan from a cd...

What can I do?

any help apreciated....

thanks.

Sounds like the relationship with the domain is broken, but that wouldnt prevent local logins. Can you access them from the network?

I am able to login from other computers using the domain name and pass.

we also had local profiles which we were not able to access on those 2 computers..

We right clicked on "my computer" went into the "profiles" tab, and all profiles except the admin account said "unknown".

I have fixed the problem..

Solution: delete all profiles from the local computer, delete them from the domain (not the users), disconect the computers from the domain, add the computer back into the domain... BAaM!...

wierd....

ps thanks SiliconJ... you gave me the idea.
