How much would a 9700 Pro help me over my Ti?

I've suddenly "obtained" a sum of money, and am considering a new graphics card. My system is:

AthlonXP 3200+ (2500+ @ stock voltages)
512MB DDR400
Asus A7N8X Deluxe (nForce2)
BFG Ti 4200 128MB @ 300/545
Maxtor 80GB 7200rpm IDE
WindowsXP Pro
Enermax 300w PS

I currently get around 12500 in 3DMark2001se with the latest Detonators, and I forgot what in 2k3 (like under 2,000 I think, does that sound right?). If it helps, my system is so fast I can run CS at 1280x1024 with 4x AA and 4x AF with a solid 60fps.

Anyways, I'm probably going to get either a 9700 Pro, or a 9800np but they are somewhat less common. If you have a linky to a 128mb 9800np that is less than $225 or a good deal on a 9700 Pro please post it here. But back to my original rant - what do you suppose my 3DMark scores would be if I upgraded to a 9700 Pro/9800np (they perform the same BTW)? I'm kind of looking for someone with a similar setup that has had experience with an upgrade like this.

Thanks!

BTW: I found a scorching deal on this card: Click here for the kinky linky
Is it any good?

Personally though for the moderate increase in price Id go for the 9800pro retail from ATI...

I bought a used 9700Pro over my Gainward Ti4200 and i love its performance ... i got it for 200$ about a month ago ...

I play all my games at AA X4 AF X4 without a single problem .. all of them are extra playable with all eye candies on .. (Like: Splinter Cell, MOH, SimCity4, Unreal2, DF Black Hawk Down, Mafia, Halo ....)
I believe that the 9700Pro will play smoothly all of the upcoming games, even at higher resolutions which the Ti4200 will not be capable to do smoothly AFAIK...

i have built several systems based on the 4200ti and a few based on the 9700pro (my previous included) and a few on the 9800pro (my present one included).

the main difference is that with either the 9700 or 9800 series, you can enjoy much better EYE CANDY than you could with the earlier 4200ti. the 4200ti is a very capable card but lackluster when quality is turned up.

get the 9800np if you can. i know that circuitcity.com had the 9800np for 199.99 a month ago, before i left school for winter recess... not sure if that is still the case now.

Well I'm just looking for the cheapest deal. I'm 16, have no job, but still manage to build the system that I have now. I've bookmarked that 9700 Pro (Omardeth), and unless ATI slams there prices down again, it's probably the chip I'm getting.

No nVidia for me!

That sounds a little bit fishy to me. If you robbed the bank, why not get a 9800 XT?

If you don't like NewEgg, ZipZoomFly (formerly GoogleGear) sells the same card for the same price with 2nd day shipping.Get it here.

ZipZoomFly also mentions the Free Massager with Purchase of this Video Card, lol. Hurry before Jan 5th! I would assume you can get this 'free massager' with the purchase from NewEgg or ZipZoomFly.
