Will my 2.4Ghz phone interfere with my wireless LAN?

As mentioned in another post, I am ordering a Netgear 802.11G router and a Proxim Gold 802.11G PCCard for my laptop. We have a very small house with a 2.4Ghz cordless phone and a second handset. The system is basically off-limits when the microwave is running, and I'm very worried that my new wireless LAN will experience dropouts and whatnot when the phone is in use. Does anyone else have a situation similar to mine? What results to you get?

I've always wondered the same too. One time I called Earthlink because my internet was acting funny and it seemed like my speeds were getting slow. They gave me a list of things to do and one of them was "Remove and wireless phones away from the router." They didn't specify wireless router. So my guess is that if it can mess with wired routers it can do more to wireless routers.

My Uniden 2.4 gig phones knock my wireless flat (G ap and 2 B and 1 G card) on its butt. Phone works great, but as soon as you pick up a phone its dead.

Well this sucks. We also have a Uniden 2.4 system, so I guess I'll be unplugging it when I need to go wireless, and resort to my 900Mhz cordless.

Microwave ovens will do the same as a 2.4GHz phone. You could try changing the channels on your phone and hope you get one that doesn't interfere w/ the router.

I have a 2.4GHz cordless phone about 3 feet away from my wireless-B router and I haven't experienced any problems with either one.
