Spray painting cd rom and floppy

I painted my cd-rom and floppy drive with Krylon Fusion. I used Linear1's tips for applying the paint and It came out really well. I was wondering that if I were to use a hair dryer to help "bake" the paint on, that I would get a better finish. If anyone knows a good way to dry it well.

Thanks in advance.

never heard it was needed.....try it on an old case face plate or broken cdrom first and see what happens...but I dont it would do anything different.

"baking" on paint has no pos efects on the actual finish not for spray paint anyways. When you see car shops "baking" in paint jobs is some special type of paint that they use. In fact it can even be more harmful than good as the paint doesn't get a chance to bond correctly to the surfacen and there is always the possibility of overheating and cooking the paint job

I don't see where using a dryer to "bake" it on would make any difference. Just allow enought time for it to dry properly and you should be fine.

Usually it dries pretty quickly, but I haven't tried the Krylon yet. Just keep it at room temperature and it should be dry to the touch in a half hour at most.

Alright, thanks for the info everyone. Its been drying for the past 3 hours. I just wanted to see if there was another way to make sure it was dry for good. The one thing I somewhat dislike about it is that it has a little gloss or shine to it. It isnt much of a shine, but its just a little. Its a little cold where I am at, so thats why I was wondering.

Thanks again all.
