In my opinion Media Player Classic is the absolute best player ever, and I watch a lot of stuff. :P
Even though I probably use Windows Media Player more.. Just because it's there. Trust me though.. MPC is much better than WMP, and the best player I've found thus far. Don't ask me why.. Download it and see for yourself.

Windows Media Player is not Media Player Classic they are two different players.

Should be able to get it there.. If not do a google search.

SourceForge.net is down at the moment or I'd give you the official link..

Linux - MPlayer
Windows - Global DivX Player, with the Ace Megapack Codec. Global DivX contains spyware, but I constantly run Ad-Aware and Spybot anyway.

I use Zoomplayer - it is really light and uses hardly any resources that coupled with the FFDShow filter pack for Dixv/Xvid emulation.

An example being my flatmate had a P3 450 he was having problems with playback being jerky and slow, he tried many players and codec packs but when I installed the above on his PC everything ran super smooth.

The cool thing about FFDShow filter pack is that it will actually play your media with better quality too and the difference can be noticable.

I agree with Shampoo... Media Player Classic really is a fantastic program. It looks simple, but is jam-packed with features. Good stuff...

That's too simple. Xine isn't really a bad program though.
